eBay dispatch message templates, with tracking
"Where's my order?" is one of the most common messages sellers get. A short note when you post the item answers it before it's asked, and buyers who know their parcel is on its way are calmer, happier and more likely to leave feedback. Here's what to include, and templates you can copy.
What a dispatch message should include
- The buyer's name and what they ordered.
- That it's on its way, and with which courier.
- The tracking number, if there is one.
- Roughly when to expect it.
- What to do if there's a problem.
Leave out links to your website, social media and other contact details: eBay's messaging rules don't allow them.

Tips
- Send it on the day you post. Upload tracking in eBay as soon as you have it.
- Keep it to a few lines. Most buyers read it on a phone.
- Don't ask for feedback yet. The item hasn't arrived. Save that for a reminder once they've had time to use it (see getting more feedback).
Let SellerThanks send these for you. Write your messages once and they're sent automatically to every buyer, after payment, when you dispatch, and as a polite feedback reminder, personalised with their name and what they bought.
